madeline’s nursery has been 99.8 % complete for quite some time now, but i’ve been waiting for ‘the final touch’ to arrive in the mail before i i posted the big reveal on my blog.
in typical lindsay fashion, i wasn’t willing to post a single picture of the room until i knew- without a doubt- that it was finished and ready to go. all that it needs now is one sweet little pea to go in it and it’ll be perfect.
it has definitely been a work in progress, a labor of love… each item in there has been poured over with attention, which can be found in the smallest of details.
starting out, we didn’t really have any idea as to what we wanted it to look like… once we purchased the bedding for the crib though, it took on a life of it’s own and we just rolled with it. i must have promised andy 50 times that i wouldn’t go overboard with the “matchy-matchy” schtick that happens all too often with nursery themes… but dang, it’s hard when there is so much cuteness out there in the baby retail world!!!
i can’t say that i held up to my promise, but andy is very happy with the outcome and my heart flutters every time i go looking for him and find him in there, practicing transferring her tiny little body from the crib to the changing table. there is nothing more precious than a father-to-be anxiously awaiting the arrival of his daughter. although he constantly reassures me that there is enough love to go around, i am fully prepared to be put on the back burner once she makes her debut and steals his heart away from me.
Ok, enough rambling… here’s the BEFORE shot.
And here’s what it looks like now…
