Weekend Shenanigans: Raleigh/Chapel Hill/Carolina Shore Edition
Our final stop (for the evening) last friday took place in Chapel Hill, where the plans were to rest our heads at Cori & Robert’s house before driving to the beach on Saturday. As Wolfpack fans, Andy and I didn’t frequent Chapel Hill all to often during our days at NC State, so it was nice to have tour guides in the Tarheel city. Andy, Cori, her husband Robert, a handful of their friends, and I all went out to dinner on Franklin Street and then hit up some bars afterwards. They were all kind enough to stick to the outside patio establishments though, since you can still smoke in bars down there.
Above is a picture of Cori and I outside the restaurant where we ate. Cori is someone who will always have a special place in my heart. She’s not my “best friend”, she’s my “forever friend”. The bond we have is something so sacred to me that I have placed her in a category all on her own.
Cori, I know you read my blog regularly, and I just want to take this moment to let you know how much I cherish you and how important our friendship is to me. Since we met in Coach Franks sports med class in 10th grade, I knew that we would share a lifelong friendship. You are the truest meaning of the word friend and I only hope that I am even half the friend to you that you are to me. The time we spend together is something that I never take for granted… when I’m with you, I laugh louder, smile wider… I can’t wait to move back home so we can FINALLY be together again after 11 years apart. I love you, Cor!!!! xoxo
