catching up.

back in late february (aka forever ago), my dearest cori, her husband robert, and their daughter blake gifted madeline with a photo shoot with the talented megan kime for her 1st birthday. ((coolest birthday gift ever, right?!?!))

since megan is based out of NC, we scheduled the session for the week we were in town for madeline’s NC 1st birthday party. it was supposed to be a big week for us- my brother zan was in town from seattle, we flew my cousin angie in from florida, we had all of our family and friends coming over to my parents house to help us celebrate. i was going to have (almost) all of my favorite people in one place and i was beyond stoked. 

but then madeline got sick. and i got sick. and then andy, and mom, and angie, and katie and jennifer and dad and… basically anyone that came within a 50 ft radius of us. and when i say sick, i mean stoopid sick. like, “i-wanna-die-don’t-touch-me-this-sucks-so-bad” sick. 

so when photo shoot day arrived, we were worthless. my hair was a hot mess. don’t even get me started on the clothes, and that tacky hair tie on my wrist??? needless to say, all creativity went by the wayside. all we cared about was pushing through without vomiting everywhere and at the end of it, we found ourselves crossing our fingers that we got at least one good photo out of the shoot. megan was more than professional… she was a total trooper!
